Chris Tester


As Area Service Manager, Chris’s role includes all responsibilities necessary for the execution of maintenance service management for a portfolio of communities, including service operations, employee recruitment, training and supervision, budget control, and project management.

Chris has extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of safety and construction needs related to multifamily housing and exterior renovations. His past experience has included the direction of maintenance operations and major renovation projects for communities.

Chris joined Phillips Management Group in 2011 as service manager at Colonial Apartments and was promoted to the position of area service manager in 2014. He began working in property management in 1996 as a groundskeeper and painter and was promoted to the position of service technician in 1998. After gaining extensive experience working in rehab construction, Chris joined Equity Residential as a maintenance engineer and acquired his CFC/EPA and CPO certifications while gaining experience working with HVAC systems, swimming pools and appliance repair and maintenance. He first became a service manager in 2005.
